Max Healthcare Institute Limited, in partnership with the Joint Royal College of Physicians Training Board (JRCPTB-UK), offers an exceptional Postgraduate Programme in Internal Medicine. This three-year, full-time programme is designed to provide comprehensive training in internal medicine, incorporating the full MRCP-UK certification, which is recognised by the Medical Council of India as equivalent to an MD.

The Internal Medicine Training (IMT) programme forms the first stage of specialty training for physicians, preparing trainees to manage patients with acute and chronic medical conditions at a senior level. The programme emphasises practical training and hands-on experience, ensuring that trainees are well-prepared for senior roles in both outpatient and inpatient settings.

The approved curriculum for IMT is a sub-set of the curricula for General Internal Medicine (GIM) and Acute Internal Medicine (AIM), following a spiral curriculum where topics are revisited with increasing levels of difficulty. This approach ensures that new learning is related to previous knowledge, and the competence of the trainee increases progressively.

During the programme, candidates will rotate through various departments over three years, including Internal Medicine, Neurology, Respiratory Medicine, Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Medical ICU, Radio-diagnosis, Infectious Diseases, Rheumatology, Emergency Medicine, Endocrinology, Geriatrics, Palliative Care, Psychiatry, Dermatology, and Oncology.
